Add, Edit, and Delete Shifts

Add, edit, and delete shifts in Mendato – a guide.

Written by Philipp Geimer

A shift generates operations at regular intervals from a specific start date, taking place on fixed days and at fixed times. You can store a fixed executor in the shift or alternatively assign the operation via the roster.

Add a Shift in the Order

To create a shift, open the relevant order.

  • Create a shift:

    • Within the order, click the 3 menu dots in the top right and click "Add Shift".

    • An input window opens:

Input window 'Create Shift' with fields for order services, start date, interval, and required executors

    • Select the appropriate order services and set the start date.

    • Define the interval (e.g. daily, weekly) and specify how many executors are required.

    • If a selected service has execution time windows, the form shows them as target windows and warns you if the chosen days or times fall outside them — planning still remains possible. → Execution Time Windows for Services

    • Optionally, you can add differing instructions or activate the automatic creation of service receipts.

    • Confirm your entries with "Next" and then select the executors.

Edit a Shift

  • Adjust shift details:

    • To edit an existing shift, select the shift in the order and click "Edit".

    • In the "Edit Shift" window, you can change various options, e.g. the interval, the time/duration, and the number of required executors.

    • If you want to change the creation of service receipts, activate the option "Automatically Create Service Receipt".

    • Note: Changes to the interval or date will cause existing operations to be deleted and recreated.

End a Shift

  • End the shift:

    • To end a shift, click "End Shift".

    • Enter the date of the last execution and confirm with "End". From this date, no further operations will be created automatically.

Resume an Ended Shift

An ended shift does not need to be recreated — you can simply resume it:

  1. On the ended shift, click the play icon (Resume Shift).

  2. Select the date of the next execution. From this date, operations will be created automatically again.

  3. Click "Resume".

The shift then continues with the original interval and the assigned executors.

Note: Shifts allow you to automatically plan operations for orders at recurring dates. Changes to shifts affect all future operations, which ensures effective planning.
