With execution time windows, you define for each service the time periods in which it should be executed — for example "Mon–Fri 06:00–09:00" or "only after closing time, from 20:00". The time windows are the target windows for shift and operation planning: Mendato shows them while you plan and flags any planning outside them with a warning.
Important: The time windows don't block anything — they are a planning aid. You can still plan shifts and operations outside the target windows at any time, e.g. for a deliberate exception.
Define Time Windows
You manage the time windows directly on the order:
Open the order and go to the Services section.
In the Time Windows column, click "Add" — or click the number of existing windows (e.g. "5 Windows") to edit existing time windows.
In the "Execution Time Windows" window, click "Define Time Windows" and enter the details.
You have the following options:
Weekly: Select one or more weekdays — a separate window is created for each selected weekday. This lets you map e.g. "Mon–Fri 06:00–09:00" with a single entry.
Date: Define a window for a single day or a date range, e.g. for a special cleaning. On that day, a date window overrides the weekly windows.
Time or All Day: Enter a from and to time, or mark the window as "All Day".
Past Midnight: If the to time is before the from time (e.g. 22:00–02:00), the window automatically extends past midnight into the following day — handy for night cleaning.
Multiple Windows per Day: You can create as many windows as you like, e.g. one in the morning and one in the evening.
Note: Optionally, you can add a note, e.g. "only after closing time".
Target Windows in Planning
As soon as a service has time windows, Mendato shows them during planning:
Creating and Editing Shifts: The shift form shows the target windows of the selected service and warns immediately if the selected weekdays or times are outside them.
Creating and Editing Operations: The operation form also shows the target windows and warns if the planned date or time is outside them.
The warning is just a notice — you can still save.
Warnings for Deviations
If planned shifts or operations are outside the target windows, Mendato marks them with a yellow warning icon:
On the Service: In the "Services" section of the order, when a shift or upcoming operations are outside the target windows.
On the Shift: On the shift card, when the shift's weekly pattern leaves the target windows.
On the Operation: In the order's operation list, next to the date of the affected operations.
A tooltip on the warning icon shows you which target windows apply and where the planning deviates.
