Mendato Controlling: Overview and Dashboard

The Controlling dashboard in Mendato – revenue, costs, result, and order profitability at a glance.

Written by Philipp Geimer

Mendato Controlling shows you at a glance how profitable your orders, customers, and employees are. The dashboard summarizes revenue, costs, and result for a month of your choice.

Prerequisite: For Controlling to calculate correct values, the employee's Working Time Model must contain a gross hourly wage.

Select Month

You select the desired month using the month picker at the top of the dashboard. By default, the previous month is displayed. All key figures and charts refer to the selected month.

Key Figures Overview

At the top of the dashboard, you see four key figures with a comparison to the previous month:

Key Figure

What Is Displayed?

Result

Revenue minus costs — shows whether your company was profitable in the selected month

Revenue

Total net revenue from all orders

Costs

Total net costs (wages, surcharges, non-wage labor costs, subcontractors, other costs)

Employees

Employee-related key figures with a comparison to the previous month

Next to each key figure, the comparison to the previous month is displayed, so you can spot trends immediately.

Charts

Revenue Distribution by Service

A pie chart shows how your revenue is distributed across the various services (e.g. maintenance cleaning, window cleaning, deep cleaning). This shows you which services account for the largest share of revenue.

Cost Distribution

Another chart shows the composition of your total costs:

  • Wage costs — base wages of your employees

  • Non-wage labor costs — employer social security contributions (19.325%)

  • Wage surcharges — night, Sunday/public holiday, and hardship surcharges

  • Subcontractor costs — costs of external service providers

  • Other costs — receipts/expenses from Accounting

Top and Flop Orders

The dashboard shows two lists:

  • Top orders — the most profitable orders by revenue

  • Flop orders — the least profitable orders (lowest or negative result)

Each entry shows the order number, object, revenue, and costs. Click an order to open the detailed analysis.

Detailed Analyses

From the dashboard, you can drill down into different levels:

  • Order — revenue, costs, and result of a single order

  • Customer — aggregated values across all orders of a customer

  • Employee — an employee's wage costs and operations across all orders

You can find a detailed explanation of all calculations in the article Costs, Revenue & Result in Mendato Controlling.
