A Credit Note in Mendato is a billing for subcontractors when a service was performed by a subcontractor. Credit notes are intended exclusively for subcontractors and are not used for customers – for customers there are only reductions.
Characteristics of a credit note:
Only for subcontractors: Credit notes are amounts that a subcontractor is credited for a service.
Automatic creation after customer billing: As soon as an invoice has been created for the customer, a credit note can be created for the subcontractor.
Generates a pending credit note item that is ready for billing in Accounting.
Step-by-Step Guide to Creating Credit Notes
1. Create the subcontractor (if not yet available)
Go to Master Data > Subcontractors and make sure the subcontractor is stored in the system.
2. Add the subcontractor as an executor in the order
Open Mendato Orders and select an existing order or create a new one.
Click Add Executor and select the subcontractor.
Set the start date and link the billing to the order billing.
Choose the billing method: fixed price or percentage.
3. Carry out the customer billing
Before the credit note is created, the customer invoice must already have been created in Mendato Accounting.
